Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami stands by the family of Shaheed Rashidul Haque, who has been martyred during the anti-discrimination student movement in Dhaka. Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Abdul Halim went to the house of Shaheed Rashedul Haque in Char Katgiri village of Nun Khawa Union of Nageshwari Upazila in Kurigram district on Friday. He inquired about his family. During the visit, he visited the grave of Shaheed Rashidul Haque and gave one lakh taka to Bachchu Mia, father of Shaheed Rashidul Haque.
Later, Jamaat-e-Islami Kurigram district Ameer Maulana Abdul Matin Farooqui presided over a street procession at the premises of Noon Khawa Katgiri Nurania and Hafizia Madrasa. Addressing the program, Maulana Abdul Halim said, "The people of Bangladesh were under siege and exploitation for the past 17 years. The countrymen are free today because of the anti-discrimination student movement. The people have regained freedom of speech today. The students and the general masses have raised their voices against this dictatorship from almost all the educational and other institutions of the country. During the movement, Abu Saeed, a brave young student of Begum Rokeya University, stood in front of the bullet like a lion. Rangpur is proud to have such a brave son who could make the highest sacrifice for the country.
Similarly, Rashidul Haque's father has lost one Rashidul, but thousands of Rashiduls are by his side. Shaheed Rashedul Haque is not only a child of Kurigram, rather he is a heroic child of Bangladesh. Shaheed Rashedul Haque and numerous students have sacrificed their lives to free the people of this country, and also protect the rights of the people of this country and bring smiles to people's faces.
Maulana Abdul Halim also said that those who gave their lives for the second independence of Bangladesh including Shahid Rashidul Haque are heroes. People of Bangladesh will never forget them. Many children sacrificed their lives, countless students and general people also sacrificed their lives in this movement. The fascist government has killed the citizens of the country indiscriminately just to stay in power. So, it is certainly a genocide. During the regime of the previous fascist government, even a child was not safe in its mother's lap and in its own house. The students of this country organized a united movement against that dictatorial government and forced them to flee.
He said, I demand exemplary punishment for every murderer who have killed children, students, laborers and ordinary people during the anti-discrimination student movement. We do stand by the family of Shaheed Rashidul Haque and will continue to do so in the future, God willing.”
