Calls for immediate trial and exemplary punishment for the corrupted officials and Awami terrorists

A view exchange meeting between Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and 12-party alliance on Thursday, August 15. In the meeting, the prevailing situation of the country including the establishment of law and order, trial of the massacres, return of smuggled money, restoring rule of law, establishment of human rights were discussed.

It was said in the meeting that after the historical revolution of the students, it is necessary to establish a non-discriminatory society enriched with communal harmony in order to ensure stability and development. We want to build a country free from fascism. The officials of the former fascist government, the then ruling party's armed terrorists who have carried out anarchy and mass killings must be brought to justice immediately and they should be given exemplary punishment.

Rule of law and fundamental rights of all people must be ensured. Officials who had helped the misdeeds of the previous government should be removed and consequently honest, efficient and professional officials should be appointed. The country's economy must be strengthened by bringing back the money which have been laundered by the previous fascist government.

All murder incidents of the recent student movement should be investigated properly and the number of the actual casualties should be presented in front of the nation. The families of the victims should be compensated.

The interim government is working to establish good governance in the country. While, the friends of fascism are continuing their efforts to destroy the peaceful environment of the country. The people of the country should be vocal and everyone should play a united role to resist possible untoward situation. The victory and the real spirit of this mass uprising should not allowed to be hijacked. Necessary reforms to be done and the election should be arranged subsequently. We need to make our unity stronger. We are passing a time full of plots and conspiracy.

Shafiqur Rahman said, "On August 5, the dictator who was holding the neck of the nation for fifteen and a half years ended. This day is called the Second Independence Day. Thanks to the youth for this. We got this second freedom at the cost of thousands of lives. We have discussed about the role of the 12-party alliance, including the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and the role of the clerical society in the work of nation building. We will continue this discussion. We believe that the unity of the people will be strong and together with the students we will counter any conspiracy and conspiracy.”

Following the meeting, Jamaat Ameer said in a press briefing that, the dictator who was holding the neck of the nation for fifteen and a half years has come to an end on 5th August.
