A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami led by party Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman met the Chief Advisor of the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus today. During the meeting Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Effective initiatives must be taken to bring an end to the anarchy and violence and also to control law and order situation throughout the country. All political cases filed during the regime of the previous government should be withdrawn. While, a new case should be filed against those who committed massacres to suppress the anti-discrimination student movement. Officials who supported the misdeeds of the previous government, including the police administration and the judiciary, should be removed and replaced by honest, efficient and professional officials. Evidences of corruption of the previous government should be published and all the corrupt personnel including ministers/MPs and government officials should be prosecuted. Those who were deprived of promotion during the previous government should be given speedy promotion and respectable posting. Forced fully retired officials should be reinstated/contractually employed.
57 Bangladeshis who had protested in the UAE supporting the quota movement should be resettled with dignity and honor. Steps should be taken to mobilize the economy of the country. Initiatives must be taken to increase the remittances and simultaneously arrangements should be made to bring back the smuggled money.
Jamaat Ameer also said that in this difficult moment of the country, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir are playing the role of watchmen so that no vested group can deteriorate the situation by attacking the houses, places of worship and properties of different religions.
Since the interim government has assumed responsibility and started discharging activities, it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of the homes of the people belonging to different religions. So Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir are not continuing the duties of protecting these establishment.
Jamaat Ameer said, "Inshallah, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir will co-operate the administration fully for maintaining peace and order in the country.

Among the advisors, along with the Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Asif Nazrul, Adilur Rahman Khan, Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan and Farida Akhtar, were present during the meet.
