Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim has said, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and all other detained leaders and activists must be released prior to the month of holy Ramadan. The incumbent authoritarian government has captured the office through a dummy election. Such an unelected government can never be a pro-people authority. Their corruption, misdeeds, money laundering and price spirals have made the public lives miserable. Country’s independence and sovereignty is in danger now. Under the circumstances, Jamaat-e-Islami should play the pivotal role to regain public rights and also to establish a welfare state.

Maulana Abdul Halim said this while addressing a conference of the Upazila Ameer and secretaries of the Rangpur-Dinajpur region. Central working committee member and Assistant regional coordinator Maulana Momtaz Uddin presided over the conference. Among others, Dinajpur south organizational district Ameer Anwarul Islam, Nilphamari district Ameer Abdur Rashid, Thakurgaon district Ameer Maulana Abdul Hakim, Dinajpur north organizational district Ameer Anisur Rahman, Rangpur district Ameer Professor Golam Rabbani, Gaibandha district Ameer Abdul Karim and Panchagarh district Ameer Maulana Iqbal Hossain spoke on the occasion.

Maulana Abdul Halim further said that, thana leaders must concentrate on studies to deal with the existing challenges. They should gain skill to manage organization. They should uphold patience and courage to tackle conspiracies. Everybody should work hard to implement the annual plan of 2024. He said, more than 3 hundred leaders and 11 top leaders have been martyred in last 15 years. More than hundred thousand activities were taken to the jail. But they cannot destroy Jamaat-e-Islami. Our beloved organization still exist and it will establish Islam in this land insha Allah.
