Jamaat will get back its registration if justice and rule of law is established

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has said the Awami League still cannot come out of its one-party authoritarian character. They do not believe in multiparty democratic system. They do believe in fascism. From such approach, they have cancelled the registration of a systematic and democratic party like Jamaat-e-Islami. We firmly believe that Jamaat will get back its registration if justice and rule of law is restored in the country.

He said this while virtually addressing the member’s conference of Sylhet North organizational district as the chief guest on Saturday.

He stated that, Awami League verbally talks about people’s rights. But after coming to the power, they have snatched the voting rights of the people away. They murdered democracy and put the nation at a stake. They grabbed the office by holding farcical elections in 2014 and 2018. The countrymen do not believe this tyrant government anymore. People have no confidence upon this government. Awami League realized that they will not be able to clinch victory in the election if it is held fairly and credibly. So, they have engaged the election commission to declare a schedule for holing another drama in the name of election. The people do not accept such schedule and already they have rejected it.

Addressing the program as the special guest, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, the countrymen consider Jamaat-e-Islami as the third largest political party of Bangladesh. But the government is mulling to hold another farcical election by keeping Jamaat-e-Islami out of the process. The countrymen will not allow Awami League to materialize this dream.

He further said, the fascist Awami League government has executed top 5 leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami. In last 15 years, more than 300 Jamaat and Shibir men became martyred. Several thousand activists have been made crippled. Thousands of leaders and activists are still behind the bar. But Jamaat-e-Islami could not be subdued in the past by such repression and will not be subdued as well.

Addressing the program, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahsanul Mahabub Zubayer said, Awami League is trying to arrange another farcical election by paving way for the opportunists and greedy people to take part in the election. But it will not happen this time.

District Ameer Hafez Anwar Hossain Khan presided over the conference. Among others, district Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Foizullah Bahar and district secretary Zainal Abedin were present in the program.
