Jamaat declared nationwide blockade observed; people cooperate spontaneously

Jamaat declared blockade has been observed across the country peacefully today. Jamaat-e-Islami declared the program demanding the resignation of the government, immediate restoration of the caretaker government system, release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, all political detainees and religious scholars and protesting police’s obstruction in 28th October’s grand rally.

Demonstration also held during the blockade in various parts of the country in which the leaders said, the entire nation is united to press home their demand for holding next election under a caretaker government. But we are observing with deep concern that the government is mulling to hold another one-party farcical election. The countrymen will not allow to hold such election this time. The leaders urged the government to accept the demand of restoring caretaker government system for the greater interest of the nation and also for bringing stable situation back in the country.

Marking today’s blockade peaceful processions and demonstrations were held in Dhaka south and north city, Dhaka’s all districts, Gazipur city, Chittagong city and divisional districts, Rajshahi city and divisional districts, Narayanganj city, Barisal city and divisional districts, Rangpur city and neighboring districts, Comilla city and neighboring districts, Mymensingh city and neighboring districts, and also in Kushtia, Sirajganj, Meherpur, Narsingdi, Rangpur, Kishorganj, Faridpur, Brahmanbaria, Bhola, Netrokona, Tangail, Chapai Nawabganj, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Panchagar, Pabna, Dinajpur South, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari and other parts of the country.
