Jamaat leaders visit hospital to see severely sick Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia

Dr. Taher urges government to ensure treatment of Begum Khaleda Zia in abroad

After visiting ailed former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said, we came to see the Begum Zia. Her physical condition is very critical and risky. So, she must be sent immediately to a foreign country for the sake of her treatment. We think, it is the obligation of the state to provide her due treatment and at the same time, it is also her constitutional and fundamental right. The government is making one after one lame excuse to deprive her from getting proper treatment. But the countrymen will not accept such situation anymore. He urged the government to send Khaleda Zia immediately in abroad for better treatment, otherwise, they have to take the liabilities.


Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said this to the journalists after visiting Evercare Hospital of the capital to see critically sick former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia today. He led a delegation comprising Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, central working committee member and Dhaka north city’s Acting Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka north city’s Assistant Secretary Dr. Fakhruddin Manik and Publicity secretary of Dhaka north city Jamaat Ataur Rahman Sarkar.

BNP’s vice chairman Dr. A Z M Zahid and Dr. Jafar welcomed the Jamaat delegation. At that time, on duty doctor informed the Jamaat leaders that the physical condition of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is very critical. Even the duty doctors stated that it would be harmful for the health of Khaleda Zia if they went to her cabin. As such, Dr. Taher decided not to go to her cabin.

Later, Jamaat delegation passed sometimes inside the hospitals and talked to the physicians, Begum Zia’s family members and other party leaders and activists. They also prayed to Allah seeking quick recovery of the BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Dr. Taher also urged the countrymen to pray for Begum Zia.
