Leadership conference held in Sirajganj

The countrymen will not accept any election without caretaker government

-Maulana Abdul Halim

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and party’s Bogra region’s coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim said, the countrymen will not accept any election without a caretaker government. There is no presence of democracy and freedom of speech now. People’s fundamental rights have been subdued. The government has made the country a failed state because of its all-out failures. Based on the massive movement, the incumbent fascist government will be made compelled to step down and also to arrange an election under a caretaker government. As such, we have to all initiatives to make the upcoming movement successful.

Maulana Abdul Halim said this while addressing a view exchanging meeting with the leaders of Ullapara and Belkuchi Upazila of Sirajganj district on 5th October, Thursday. The program was held in Shaheed Maulana Abdul Jalil auditorium, which has been presided over by district Ameer Maulana Shahinur Alam and hosted by district Maulana Zahidul Islam.

Maulana Abdul Halim further said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been trying sincerely to establish Islam in this country in a systematic way. Jamaat has been implementing peaceful programs against the incumbent oppressor regime. Jamaat leaders and activists are being arrested regularly. Jamaat Ameer and other top leaders are behind the bar for many days. Police wants to foil our ongoing movement by lodging false cases and continuing arrest drives. Jamaat leaders and activists should strengthen the movement by defying and ignoring tortures, oppressions and arrest drives.

Among others, Sirajganj district Nayeb-e-Ameer Principal Md. Ali Alam, Belkuchi Upazila Ameer Professor Nurunnabi Sarkar, Ullapara Upazila Ameer Professor Maulana Shajhajan Ali, Belkuchi Upazila secretary Ariful Islam Sohel, Enayetpur Upazila Ameer Dr. Selim Reza and local Chhatrashibir leaders were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Bogra region’s team member Professor Nazrul Islam urged all leaders to play pivotal roles in organizing movement and taking preparation for the upcoming election.
