Jamaat will not take part in any election without a caretaker government.

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman said, 12th national election is scheduled to be held shortly. Election must be free, fair, participatory and credible. Jamaat-e-Islami is an election-oriented political party. But we want to assert that Jamaat will not take part in any election without a caretaker government.

Acting Ameer said this while addressing a conference of the Associate Members organized by Narail district Jamaat-e-Islami. Narail district Ameer and central Majlish-e-Shura member Ataur Rahman Bachchu presided over the meeting which was hosted by central Majlish-e-Shura member and district secretary Maulana Obaidullah Kaisar.

Professor Mujib said, Jamaat leaders and activists should take allout preparation from now for the upcoming election. We should consider electoral activities as a part of our Dawah initiatives. Our public connection should be increased. We should seek votes from the people for the honest candidates in order to establish the rule of Allah and a welfare state.

We warn the government saying that the people will not accept any farcical election like 2014 and 2018. Next election must be held under a caretaker government. We firmly believe democracy will be restored and so as a pro-people government will be established through a free and fair election. To ensure such positive result, I am urging the countrymen to launch a massive movement.

Addressing the program as the special guest, Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Jessore-Kushtia region’s coordinator Mobarak Hossain said, to cast vote for an individual means supporting his purpose, vision, thoughts and activities. So, if we elect an honest man, a follower of Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon Him) and preserve public’s trust then we will be awarded, otherwise for a wrong choice we have to take the liabilities. So, let us play a significant role by casting our votes for an honest, patriot, pious and trustworthy candidates in the next election.

Among others, Khulna city Ameer Professor Mahfuzur Rahman, Narail district Jamaat’s former Ameer Mirza Asheq Elahi, Nayeb-e-Ameer Badsha Mia and other district leaders addressed the program.
