Magura district Jamaat's workers' conference held

Government must stepdown to hold next election under caretaker government

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

The incumbent fascist government has snatched people’s voting rights away just to stay in power illegally. They have destroyed all democratic institutions of the country. The elections which have taken place under the current regime was not free, fair and credible. People have no trust upon this government. They are mulling to hold another farcical election like 2014 and 2018. But the people will not let that happen again. Jamaat wants immediate stepdown of the government to pave the way for a fair and credible election under a caretaker government. People will select their preferable government through next election. I am urging the people of all walks to take part in the ongoing movement to fulfil their expectations.

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman said this while addressing the workers' conference organized by Magura district Jamaat-e-Islami today. District Ameer M B Baker presided over the conference which was hosted by district secretary Professor Sayeed Ahmed Bachchu.

Addressing the party activists, Acting Ameer said, Jamaat workers have to set more examples of dedication and sacrifice. They should exercise the practice of offering Salam, feeding the destitute and performing additional Salah during midnight.

Addressing the conference as the special guest, Jamaat's central executive committee member and Jessore-Kushtia region's coordinator Mobarak Hossain said, following the Sunnah and the principles of the Prophet (pbuH) is the only way to save the world from destruction. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami wants to establish a welfare state. He urged the Jamaat activists to spread Dawah activities to bring large number of people under the banner of the Islamic movement.

Among others, Magura district's former Ameer and Jamaat's central Majlish-e-Shura member Abdul Matin and other district level Jamaat leaders were present on the occasion.
