8 men were killed as dredgers capsized in Sadar Upazila of Patuakhali district in recent cyclone Sitrang. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited their houses to console them.
At that time, Jamaat Ameer was accompanied by the party’s central executive committee member Muhammad Ijjat Ullah, Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzam Hossain Helal, central working committee member and Jamaat’s Dhaka city south secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Barisal region’s team member Maulana Fakhruddin Razi, Patuakhali district Ameer Shah Alam and other local leaders.
During the visit, Jamaat Ameer tried to know the latest situation of the victim families. He extended sympathy to these families and urged them to hold patience. Jamaat Ameer also promised to help them in the upcoming days in different crises.
Jamaat Ameer said the shop and market owners have been enjoying the outcome of these people's hard work and extremely laborious activities. If they already came to see these victims we are happy. If not, we humbly appeal to extend cooperation towards these people. Let us share their pains. May Allah accept our efforts. If there is any contamination in our wills and desire, may Allah forgive us for such elements. May Allah help us to perform our jobs with the purest desire. The Prophet (pbuH) said, “He is the best human being who helps others.” May Allah allow us for the betterment of the people. May Allah accept our dreams of building this country as a welfare state. We will be by the side of the victims and affected people anywhere in Bangladesh.
Later, Jamaat Ameer distributed financial assistance among all the victim families.
