Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said we are keen to establish a society based on the Quran, Sunnah, and justice. We should have a ruler who will work as the custodian of the 190 million citizens. A good reward is waiting for the just ruler whereas stern punishment is for the unjust and bad rulers. A bad ruler’s consequences will never be positive. Natural calamities take place because of our wrong deeds. We do not have funds like the government. We are here with the assistance and limited support, provided by our party leaders, activists, and well-wishers. Jamaat is trying to extend help to the people during season and out of season.

Jamaat Ameer further said, we are working for the betterment of the people to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. This is why; people love us. But the ruling party does not like our activities. So, they are trying to stop us through the means of repression and torture. But Jamaat can never be thwarted and stopped by such oppressions. Who is torturing us, if they recorrect themselves, we will be happier as they are our brothers as well. Jamaat has tried to help people during the recent flood. Now we are feeling happy by handing over some houses among some families. Let us work for humanity from our personal position. Society and the nation will be benefited from these activities.

Jamaat Ameer said this while addressing the event for distributing newly constructed homes and tins among the flood victims in Jointapur and Kanaighat Upazila today. In Jointapur, new houses were provided to Nazrul islam, Anisul Haq and Faizul Haq. Sylhet north district Jamaat Ameer Hafiz Anwar Hossain Khan, Secretary Joinal Abedin, district Shura and working committee member Maulana Mashuk Ahmed, Sylhet city Shibir President Abdullah Al Faruq and Maruf Ahmed accompanied the Jamaat Ameer. Jointapur Upazila Ameer Maulana Nazmul Islam, Secretary Maulana Golam Kibria, 4 number union chairman Baharul Islam Bahar, Anwarul Ambia, Faruq Amhed, Shamim Ahmed and Abdul Hadi were also present on the occasion.

Jamaat Ameer attended another house and tin distribution program in Kanaighat. Among others, Sylhet north district Jamaat Ameer Hafiz Anwar Hossain Khan, Secretary Joinal Abedin, district Shura and working committee member Maulana Mashuk Ahmed, Sylhet city Shibir President Abdullah Al Faruq, Maruf Ahmed, Kanaighat Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sharif Ahmed, Secretary Hafiz Maulana Tajuddin, Assistant Secretary Maulana Abu Jahra, Mukhtar Ahmed and labor leader Hafez Foyez Ahmed were present on the occasion.
