Newly constructed houses have been handed over to the victims of river erosion in Kurigram district Sadar, Rajarhat, Fulbari and Ulipur of the Kurigram district on 29th September Thursday. On behalf of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim handed over these houses. Among others, Jamaat’s central working committee member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Kurigram district Ameer Abdul Matin Faruqee, district Secretary Maulana Nazim Uddin, district’s Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdul Hamid, Sadar Upazila council’s former vice chairman Maulana Habibur Rahman and Rajarhat Upazila’s former vice chairman Maulana Kafil Uddin and other local leaders were present on the occasion.
Earlier, on 18th July Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the flood-affected areas of Kurigram district. Witnessing the devastating impact of the flood, he instructed the local organization to conduct post-flood rehabilitation activities. As per his instructions, the district organization managed this rehabilitation task through volunteer teams.
At that time, Maulana Abdul Halim said, we have taken a stand beside you as a part of our obligation to help the helpless people. This is a humanitarian, social and philanthropic task. As an ideological party, Jamaat takes part in various welfare activities. We consoled and assisted the victims families of launch capsizing incidents in Panchagar on 28th September. Similarly, we are handing over the houses. This is not our kindness to you rather it is your right. We have tried to reach your due rights on behalf of our organization.
