Jamaat leaders provide financial assistance to the Sirajganj lighting strike victims

On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim went to Sirajganj district this morning and distributed financial assistance among the 9 victim families who have lost their near and dear ones during recent lightning strike incident. He also provided similar assistance to 6 wounded victims. At that time, he conveyed the salam and greetings of Ullapara’s popular leader and Jamaat’s detained Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan.

Maulana Abdul Halim extended sympathy to the victim families and consoled them. He prayed to Allah for accepting all the lightning strike victims as martyrs. He also prayed to Allah to bless their families with patience so that they can overcome the shock of bereavement.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, Jamaat-e-Islami is not a asusual party. It is a democratic, ideological, and welfare party. Jamaat’s main purpose is to establish a welfare state based on public welfare and justice.

He further said, Jamaat-e-Islami always took a stand by the side of the people, particularly in danger. The party is serving the people by all means. To facilitate public welfare, Jamaat’s activities will continue similarly as the helpless and poverty-stricken people become benefited from our noble efforts.

Sirajganj district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Shahinur Alam, Ullapara Upazila Ameer and Upazila council’s former vice chairman Shahjahan Ali and district president of Islami Chhatrashibir Torikul Islam and others were present on the occasion. It should be mentioned that 10 farmers including 3 from the same family killed by lightning in Matikora village of Ponchokroshi union under Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj on last 8th of September.
