Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city North and Dhaka city south organized a day-long workshop with the former members of the Islamic student movement on 5th August. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and party’s central publicity affairs secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda hosted the program. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman addressed the program as the chief guest.
The program began with the inaugural speech of Jamaat’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum. Among others, Jamaat’s central executive committee member Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdul Halim, central executive committee member, and central publicity secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda, Dhaka city south Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, Dhaka city north Ameer Md. Selim Uddin, Dhaka city south secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, and Dhaka city north secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim addressed the program.
While addressing the program, Jamaat Ameer highlighted the importance of an oath-bound life. He said, not only for the worldly life but for the hereafter, the oath is equally important. The companions had made their baiyah (oath) in the hands of the holy Prophet (peace be upon Him). Oath is not a temporary issue. It has to be maintained throughout life. It is a matter of great fortune to conduct life on Iqamat-e-Deen since the beginning of life.
We have to give emphasis to building an Islamic family. We have to ensure sustenance in a Halal way. While selecting friends and companions, we should prioritize Islamic preference. We have to continue our struggle until injustice, corruption, and ill deeds are eradicated from society.
We have to pray to Allah for seeking forgiveness for one another. We have to consider our fellow countrymen as one family and should make a comprehensive effort to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh. We have to continue our attempts to build an Islamic welfare state in a bid to get free from worldly welfare and punishment of the hereafter.
Acting Secretary General in his concluding speech stated, let us make an endeavor to become the dearest servant to Almighty Allah. Let us work altogether and let us be determined to form an oath-bound life.
Finally, he thanked all participants and formally brought an end to the program.
