Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, Qurbani is not a ritual of sacrificing animals only. Rather, its main lesson is to attain Taqwa by restraining the animal-like instinct within ourselves. It is stated in the holy Quran, “Certainly my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, my death and everything is only for Allah, who is the ultimate controller of the Universe. (Sura An’am: Verse 162). So, the main purpose of the Qurbani is to attain salvation both in this world and the hereafter by reflecting on the lesson of this great event.
Jamaat Ameer said this while addressing a post-Eid reunion program by attending it virtually. Dhaka city North Jamaat’s Kafrul-Mirpur zone organized the event. Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and zone coordinator Lashkar Mohammad Taslim presided over the program. Dhaka city north Jamaat Ameer and central executive committee member Muhammad Selim Uddin and central working committee member and Dhaka city North Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa addressed the program as the special guests.
Jamaat Ameer said, Jamaat-e-Islami initiated its journey 81 years back with just 75 people with a determination to bring changes. The reason behind launching the organization was to create a new wave against the existing trend of ignorance. Although the organization started its journey with a limited capacity now it has been able to emerge a as strong organization in 8 countries in this region. The movement is moving forward dynamically. But the pro-establishment forces became enemies of this movement. They want to subdue these ideological attempts. But they will never be successful as they could not in the earlier occasions as well. He urged all to engage in all-out efforts with a vow to establish Deen Islam ignoring all barriers and obstructions.
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami further said, Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic and ideological organization. We are working relentlessly to build up this country as a nation of dignity based on justice. This is why we have to face too much repression. Our women, kids, and aged people are not being spared from such torture. Our senior leaders have been executed unjustifiably. Many leaders and activists became the victim of extra-judicial killing. Many have lost their organs and become crippled. However, despite all such brutal oppression, we are moving firmly until the establishment of Deen Islam.
Muhammad Selim Uddin said our birthland Bangladesh is full of natural beauty and diversity. People of this country are religious and the majority of the population are Muslim. But since its independence, this nation has been ruled by imported ideologies. Mass people are deprived of their rights due to avarice, greed, power-centered politics, and nepotism. General people are becoming losser but a particular vested quarter is becoming excessively richer. Jamaat has been trying sincerely to bring out the nation from such a vicious circle.
He said, although, the govenrment is talking about turning this country into a developed country like Singapore, but reality is totally different. Basic survival items like food, gas, electricity and fuel are not available. The sound of famine is being heard. The nation is gradually moving towards bankruptcy. To get rid of this situation, there is no alternative but to transform this country into a welfare state based on the ideology of the Quran and Sunnah. He also urged all to become united to press the one-point demand of the caretaker government.
