Maulana Muhammad Hanif buried at his family graveyard

Biggest ever Namaj-e-Janaja held at Dinajpur; people pay their last tribute to their dearest representative

We have to work to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. Maulana Muhammad Hanif was a noted religious scholar and a dedicated soul to the Islamic movement. He was with People of all classes and sections in all crises. He dedicated his life to the service of the people. Such a huge presence at his funeral is proof of people’s love for him. He was a simple man who had no greed and arrogance. He led a very humble life.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said this while taking part in the Namaj-e-Janaja (funeral prayer) of Maulana Muhammad Hanif. He also led the prayer.

Political and cultural leaders and people of all classes participated in this funeral prayer. Among others, Jamaat’s central organizing secretary Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, regional team member and former Upazila chairman Aftab Uddin Molla, Thakurgaon district Ameer Maulana Abdul Hakim, Dinajpur south organizational district Ameer Anwarul Islam, Dinajpur north organizational district Ameer Principal Anisur Rahman, Dinajpur north organizational district’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Mahbubur Rahman Bhutto, district Secretary Maulana Rabiul Islam, Beerganj Upazila West Ameer Maulana Khoda Bakhs, Beerganj Upazila east Ameer Qari Azizur Rahman, former student leader Abdul Quader, former student leader and late Maulana Hanif’s grandson Matiur Rahman and Nur Alam were present in the prayer.

First Namaj-e-Janaja was held at 10:20 am at Beerganj government pilot High school ground. It was the biggest ever Janaja in the history of Beerganj. The people of Beerganj and neighboring Kaharol remained mournful since they listened to his death news yesterday. Maulana Hanif’s popularity and huge presence of people in his Janaja made the people emotional.

It should be mentioned that, veteran member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dinajpur North organizational district’s former working committee member, and former elected mayor of Beerganh municipality, popular leader Maulana Muhammad Hanif Rahimahullah, died at 10 in the morning on 24th July morning while undergoing treatment in a private clinic in Dhaka. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. He was suffering from kidney and other complicated diseases. As the candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami, he took part in the parliamentary election in Dinajpur -1 constituency (Beerganj-Kaharol) in 2008 and 2018.

His second Janaja was held in Bottoli govenrment primary school ground at 11.30 in the morning. His second son Hafez Mahfuz led this prayer. Finally, he was buried at his family graveyard in Chaulia village.
