Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, Jamaat-e-Islami is complying with the ideologies of the Quran and Sunnah and working sincerely for the welfare of the people. Jamaat is relentlessly working to bring a smile to the face of the helpless and poverty-stricken people and to ensure people’s freedom. If the people become beneficial from this hard work, we will consider ourselves successful.
He said this while distributing Eid gifts among the poor and impoverished people held in an auditorium of the capital on 8th July. Dhaka city North’s Pallabi South thana organized the event. At that time, Jamaat Ameer urged the affluent corner of the society to come forward to make Eid festive and joyful for all.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said, to give and receive gifts is a Sunnah. It is the highest level of Sadaqah. A gift increases respect and reputation for both the giver and receiver. Almighty Allah says in the Quran, “Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury,-for them their reward is with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Sura Baqara: Verse 262). Our Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon Him) said “Give each other gifts and it will strengthen your bondage.” (Tirmidhi). So we have to practice the culture of exchanging gifts in order to bolster our mutual relationship.
Jamaat Ameer said, people’s consumption capacity has reduced significantly but the price of essentials will exceed all previous records. Actually, government-related syndicates and administrations’ reluctance have deteriorated the market situation. Consequently, a resonation of famine is being heard everywhere. Flood hits Sylhet, Sunamganj, and the northern part of the country consecutive two times but the government has taken no action to reduce mass suffering. Under such a backdrop, Jamaat Ameer urged everybody to get united to get rid of the ongoing misrule.
Thana Ameer Professor Ashraful Alam presided over the program. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka city North Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin and Dhana city North secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim addressed the occasion as the special guests. Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city North’s Assistant Secretary and zone’s coordinator Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, thana secretary Abul Kalam Pathan, Jamaat leader Abdul Gafur, Sarfaraz Khan, and Faruq Hossain Khan were present over there.
Besides, Jamaat Ameer distributed Eid gifts in 6 other places of the town including Mirpur east, Mohammadpur, Kafrul North, South and west thana. The special guests also joined these events. Presided by the concerned thana Ameer, these programs were also attended by Dhaka city North’s working committee member and Mohammadpur zone coordinator Ziaul Hasan, Dhaka city North Jamaat’s Majlish-e-Shura member Ashraful Islam, Abdullah, Anwarul Karim, Abdul Matin Khan, Tareq Reza Tuhin and others.
