Jamaat reconstitutes its central relief committee; allocates 60 lakh taka for the Northern region's flood victims

As the flood situation is deteriorating in Sylhet and Northern region severely, so Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has reconstituted its central relief committee.

To the latest, several new districts including Kishorganj, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nilphamari and vast area of northern region is being devastated by the fresh flood. Jamaat had initially formed a relief committee centrally. But since then, flood situation became deteriorated more. Under the circumstances, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has reconstituted the previously formed 22 member relief committee.

In the newly formed committee, party’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has been made the convenor. While, Party’s Assistant Secretary General Ahasanul Mahabub Zubayer has been made coordinator for Sylhet region, central organizing secretary Principal Samiul Haq Faruque for Mymensingh region and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim have been appointed as coordinator for Rangpur region. The 22 members central relief committee is now upgraded to 56 members committee.

Besides additional 60 lakh taka has been allocated for the flood victims of northern region. Jamaat Ameer also declared that if any individual, organisation or institution take any initiative to distribute relief in the flood affected area, then Jamaat-e-Islami is fully ready to assist in its implementation procedures.

Jamaat Ameer prayed to Almighty Allah seeking blessings to get rid of this crisis. He also prayed for the party leaders and activists saying that may Allah help us all to play proper role during this critical conditions. He also urged the fellow countrymen to come forward to help the flood victims.
