Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the flood-affected area of Sylhet district’s Biyanibazar Upazila’s number one Alinagar union on 22nd May Sunday. During the visit, Jamaat Ameer expressed his concern over the deteriorating flood condition.
Jamaat Ameer said, as faithful servants of Almighty Allah, it is our duty and obligation to take a stand by the side of the flood victims. Islam is the religion of humanity. Muslims are fellow brothers. Irrespective of religion and political differences, Jamaat had been by the side of the helpless people always and will be insha Allah. It is Islam’s moral teaching to serve the people in danger and crisis. Jamaat is discharging those responsibilities. It is our religious obligation to help these flood victims with different kinds of assistance including financial donations, food, relief, medical treatment, and relief and rehabilitation.
He further said, all human beings are the creation of Almighty Allah and they are helpless by default. Only Allah is the most powerful, most dominant, and the only sustainer. Jamaat Ameer also urged the government, non-government and other institutions to come forward for helping the flood victims.
Among others, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahsanul Mahabub Zubayer, Sylhet South district Ameer Professor Md. Abdul Hannan, Sylhet north district Ameer Hafez Maulana Anwar Hossain Khan, Fenchuganj Upazila’s former chairman and south district secretary Mohammad Saifullah Al Hossain, Chhatrashibir Sylhet east district president Muhibullah Hosnegir, Biyanibazar Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Faizul Islam, secretary Maulana Abul Kashem Chowdhury, secretary Ekhlas Uddin, Upazila Sramik Kollan President Muhammad Abdul, former president Jahangir Alam, Charkhai union Ameer Maulana Ameer Hossain Chowdhury, Alinagar union Jamaat leadwer Maulana Sheikh Kawsar Ahmad, Sohel Ahmad and others were present on the occasion.
