Combined efforts are required to tackle the ongoing humanitarian crisis, says Jamaat Ameer

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, the humanitarian crisis has been created centering the sudden flood in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts. We have to facilitate combined efforts to tackle the ongoing humanitarian crisis. We should sincerely believe that dangers and crises come from Almighty Allah. So, we have to seek forgiveness for our deeds. We also need to come forward to serve the flood-affected people. We are weak; even though we came here to take by your side as much as we can. Irrespective of political identity and other divisions, people must come together to help the flood victims. This crisis will not stay for long and by the grace of Allah, it will come to an end soon.

He said this while visiting the flood-affected area and distributing relief among the victims in different parts of Chatok Upazila under Sunamganj district on 22nd May.
Sunamganj district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Tofayel Ahmad Khan presided over the event, which has been hosted by district secretary Momtazul Hasan Abed. Among others, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahasanul Mahabub Zubayer, Sylhet city Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam, Sylhet south district Ameer Principal Abdul Hannan and noted religious scholar Principal Maulana Abdus Salam Al Madani were present on the occasion.

Among others, Chatok Upazila’s former Ameer Maulana Jalal Uddin, Chatok Upazila Ameer Maulana Akbar Ali, Chatok municipality Ameer Engineer Noman Ahmad, Upazila Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Maulana Syed Mansur Ahmad and Abdul Awal, Sunamganj district Chhatrashibir President Aminur Rahman, labor leader Mizanur Rahman and other Jamaat leaders were also present in the program.
