Jamaat provides financial assistances to Hindu victims of Rangpur fire incident

Miscreants set fire in a minority village belongs to Hindu fishermen in Ramnathpur union under PeerganjUpazila of the Rangpur district on last 17th October, 2021. At that time, many of their houses were vandalized and several Hindu families became affected.

On 13th December, a delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami led by party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim visited the Hindu minority village. The Jamaat leaders at that time talked to the victim families and conveyed the condolences and sympathy of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. They also distributed financial assistances among 61 victim families.

Attending an instant gathering, Maulana Abdul Halim said, we are the citizens of an independent and sovereign country. Communal harmony is our biggest bondage. We all have been hailed from Adam (A). This land belongs to the people of all faiths including Muslims, Hindu, Buddhists and Christians. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman became extremely saddened after hearing your pains and sufferings. On behalf of the party, we had also issued a statement protesting against that brutal attack on minorities. We had demanded to arrest the miscreants and to ensure their stern punishments. We also raised voice for the rehabilitations of the victims.

Since the beginning, Jamaat always played a positive role to serve the distressed and helpless community. Jamaat-e-Islami sincerely tried to reach the affected area immediate after an accident and simultaneously provided some assistances to the victims. We are here among you today as a part of the same principle. Our assistances are really insignificant compare to your losses. However, we are assuring you to assist in the same way in the upcoming days.
