Jamaat delegation takes part in hunger strike demanding release and abroad treatment for Begum Khaleda Zia

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has taken part in the mass hunger strike organized by BNP in front of the BNP’s central office to press the demand of releasing and allowing BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia to take due treatment in abroad. He expressed solidarity with the demand and addressed the gathering.

At that time, Maulana Abdul Halim stated that, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is a well-recognized patriot leader. She has served the nation for three times as the Prime Minister. She is the head of the 20 party alliances. But right now, she is critical condition and under death risk. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, we are praying for her quickest recovery. Almighty Allah is the only decision maker about life and death. Let us pray to Allah to get Begum Khaleda Zia back amongst us in order to free the nation from the clutches of misrule. Begum Zia is remembered and respected by all quarters. Being elected for several times, it has been proved that she is not only the chairperson of BNP, rather to the countrymen, she is being considered as an adorable leader.

The government can release any citizen to receive better treatment in abroad. Whereas Begum Khaleda Zia is not an ordinary citizen. So, we are urging the government to take necessary arrangement to facilitate better treatment for Begum Zia in abroad.

Among others, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central working committee member and Dhaka South city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Monjurul Islam Bhuiyan, Assistant Secretary Md. Abdul Zabbar, working committee member Md. Kamal Hossain and SM Kamal Uddin were also present in the occasion.
