Barrister Mainul Hosein dies; Acting Ameer condoles

Former advisor of the caretaker government and renowned lawyer Barrister Mainul Hosein died on 9th December while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital of the capital. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the message of condolence on 9th December expressing deep shock at the death of Barrister Mainul Hosein.

“I am expressing deep shock and condolence at the death of Former advisor of the caretaker government and renowned lawyer Barrister Mainul Hosein. He discharged the nation as the advisor of the information, law justice and parliamentary affairs ministries, housing and public works ministry in the caretaker government led by Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed in 2007. Earlier, he served the lawyers community as the president of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association. He also played role as the President of Bangladesh Newspaper Association. He was an honest, generous and pro-democratic personality. He never made compromise with the question of democracy. He has made pivotal role in establishing rule of law, justice and human rights in the country. The nation will remember his contributions.
