8 killed as 2 buses collide on Dhaka-Sylhet highway; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 26 February, 2021 as eight people have died after two busses collided on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Dakshin Surma Upazila.

A bus of Ena Express collided head-on with a bus of London Express near Rashidpur Bridge around 6:30am in the morning that left 8 people killed and another 50 injured. Off them, 18 victims are in critical condition. I am expressing deep condolence for the deceased victims and extending sympathies to their mournful families. May Allah bless them with Jannah. I am also praying for the quickest recovery of the injured.

In recent times, the number of road accidents and casualties have increased than ever. This increasing phenomenon is being observed due to reckless driving, their unskilled attitude and lack of monitoring from the concerned authority.

I am urging the concerned authorities to probe into the accident to identify the responsible personnel and to ensure their proper and immediate treatment.
