Veteran Islamic scholar Allama Nur Hossain Kasemi dies; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 13 December 2020 expressing deep shock at the death of veteran religious scholar and Islamic personality Allama Nur Hossain Kasemi.

Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Allama Nur Hossain Kasemi was undergoing treatment in a hospital of the capital since 1st December due to asphyxia and other diseases. Following the deterioration of his physical condition, he was shifted to ICU. Finally, he died this noon. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. I am expressing deep shock at his death.

Allama Nur Hossain Kasemi was a genuine guide of hundreds of thousands of religious devotees and Islamic scholars. Islam loving people across the country became extremely mournful at his demise. He has served Islam throughout his life. He played a pivotal role in spreading and circulating Islamic education, particularly he was an iconic figure of the Kawmi education system. He is the teacher of significant number of Islamic scholars. People his always remember his dedication and services for Islam. The nation lost a prominent Islamic figure at his death. Such vacuum will never be fulfilled easily.

May Allah forgive his sines and mistakes and accept him as an inhabitant of Jannah. I am extending deep sympathy to his mournful family, relatives, well-wishers, colleagues and students.
