Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 17 July 2020 at the death of Dhaka University’s former Vice Chancellor and renowned political scientist Dr. Emajuddin Ahmed.

Former Vice Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University, noted political scientist and intellectual Professor Dr. Emajuddin Ahmed breathed his last at 6:00am today at LabAid Hospital while undergoing treatment over there. He is known as a famous thinker and political scientist. Along with his services as the VC of Dhaka University, he played profound role in spreading education in the country.  He has struggled throughout his life for establishing accountable government in Bangladesh. The nation lost an impactful intellectual at his demise.

I am expressing deep shock at this death. May Allah accept all his noble deeds and bless him with great reward. I am also extending my deep sympathy to his mournful family and relatives.
