Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 6th June, 2017 expressing deep shock and condolence over the death of former Chief Advisor of the Caretaker Government and former Chief Justice Latifur Rahman.
“We are deeply shocked at the death of former Chief Advisor of the Caretaker Government and former Chief Justice Latifur Rahman. He will be remembered always for his historic role to facilitate a free, fair, impartial and credible national election in 2001. He was a pro-democratic, honest, fearless and patriot citizen. He was acknowledged for his stand for justice.
I am praying for the salvation of the departed soul and extending deep sympathy to his mournful family, relatives and well wishers. May Allah bless them with patience to endure the shock of losing this great personality.”
