Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on February 24, declaring the program announced on February 25 temporarily postponed.

"Considering the overall situation in the country, the public sit-in program announced by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on February 25 in front of the office of the Chief Advisor has been temporarily postponed. In response to the request of senior leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, respected Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has also agreed to postpone the declared voluntary arrest program for the time being.
