Jamaat declares nationwide blockade on Sunday and Monday
-Maulana ATM Masum
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 23rd November, 2023 declaring 48-hour long blockade on 26th and 27th November on Sunday and Monday across the country.
The fascist government has seized the voting rights away by holding farcical elections in 2014 and 2018. They are plotting conspiracy to arrange similar election once again. As a part of the conspiracy, the government has used the election commission to declare the schedule for a one-sided election. The countrymen rejected this schedule already. The government has already turned the nation into a failure, ineffective and subservient nation just to stay in office forcefully and as such the independence and sovereignty of the country is under threat now.
In order to free the nation from such deplorable situation, on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, I am declaring nationwide 48-hour long blockade of naval routes, railway and roads from 26th November 6 am to 28th November 6 am protesting the perverse judgment in Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration case and the election schedule of a one-sided election and simultaneously demanding resignation of the oppressor regime, formation of caretaker government, release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other political detainees, withdrawal of all false cases and for bringing the prices of the essentials within people’s capacity. I am urging the Jamaat leaders and activists and the fellow countrymen to make the declared programs successful.
