Acting Secretary General refutes the intentional comments of the Ministers against Jamaat-e-Islami

- Maulana ATM Masum

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum issued the following statement on 7th March 2023 protesting and condemning the remarks of the Home Minister in which he accused BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami of attacking the Ahmadiyya community.

While talking to the press at Bangladesh Secretariat on last 6th March, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, BNP-Jamaat attacked the Ahmadiyya community. While Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon said in a program in Panchagarh that BNP-Jamaat has made the attacks in the name of Tawhidi Jonota. Both of these remarks are totally intentional and a part of the conspiracy. We are condemning the false and intentional remarks of the aforesaid ministers.

7 cases have been filed in the last couple of days in Panchagarh. Thousands of people have been made suspect of these cases and many people have been arrested already in line with these cases. The government is responsible for providing security to all citizens. So, they are responsible for the tense situation, that has been created in Panchagarh. Particularly, the top brasses of law enforcement agencies cannot avoid such responsibility.

A national daily published a report today where they quoted that locals alleged that those who had set fire to the houses are moving here and there along with the railway minister. Now, they are playing a blame game to shift the liability upon someone else in order to conceal their failures. But such a conspiracy will never be successful.

We are urging the government to take legal steps against all the miscreants who were involved with the Panchagarh incident and also to take effective measures for resolving the Qadiani crisis permanently.
