Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Executive Committee member and party’s Central Publicity Affairs secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 9th November 2022 protesting the arrest of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s son Dr. Rafat Sadiq Saifullah and simultaneously demanding his immediate release.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s son, Dr. Rafat Sadiq Saifullah has been arrested unjustifiably on 9th November. Actually, he has been arrested to demean the image of Jamaat Ameer and Jamaat-e-Islami. We are condemning such an unlawful step of the government and demand his release immediately.
