Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has issued the following statement on 7th June, 2022 protesting the latest incident as Coordinator of Ganasanghati Andolan Junaid Saki was injured in an attack while visiting fire-burnt patients Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Tuesday evening.

The coordinator of Ganasanghati Andolan Junaid Saki and other party leaders went to the Chottogram Medical College to visit the patients who had been severely burnt by the latest fire accident. Then he talked to the journalists. While a procession of Chhatra League, attacked him. He was badly injured in this accident. Another 20 men became injured. However, we condemn such attacks.

Every citizen has the right to express sympathy and solidarity both in season and outside the season. Nobody has the right to let a bar in front of others in expressing so. But by making such an attack, Chhatra League goons have committed unlawful and illogical tasks. I am urging the concerned authorities to arrest the Chhatra League activists who were involved with the attack and also to take stern measures against them.
