Rafiqul Islam Khan urges authorities to provide safety and security to Nusrat Jahan Rafi’s family

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 26 October 2019 expressing deep concern as some miscreants threatened the mother and elder brother of Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a Madrasa student, who was doused in kerosene and set on fire on the roof of her Madrasa in April by the gang of attackers in the town of Feni.

“I am expressing deep concern as the miscreants threatened the mother and elder brother of Nusrat Jahan Rafi and subsequently disconnected the dish connection of their houses. These incidents proved that still some conspiracies are going on to foil the judicial process of this case.

Such incidents also indicated that the murderers are very influential and powerful. Their dominances are still visible. Nusrat’s family are passing days amid fear and insecurities. The government must be concerned and sincere to ensure their safety and security.

I am urging the concerned authorities to investigate into the incident to find out which miscreants had threated Nusrat’s mother and brother over mobile. I am also calling upon the authorities to undertake strict measures in a bid to ensure due securities of the victim family.
