Even in undesirable circumstances, we must move forward with patience, wisdom and courage

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that Allah Almighty has specially helped Jamaat-e-Islami to reach its present state. Expressing profound gratitude and thanks to Almighty Allah for this, he said that since Jamaat-e-Islami began its activities in 1941, it has faced many obstacles, and it still does. Obstacles are inevitable when one walks on the path of truth. The reverence, love and obedience of the noble Companions (Sahaba) towards the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him) were beyond question. For the sake of Allah, they presented the highest sacrifices for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him).

He further said that regarding various tribulations and trials, we must follow the principles, methods and traditions demonstrated by the noble Companions, based on the commandments of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him). We must make the utmost effort to learn to recite the Holy Qur’an correctly. This is the first step toward following the Qur’an.

He was delivering his speech this evening, 29 November, at the concluding session of the Central Majlish-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, Dhaka.

The Jamaat Ameer also said that we must remain extremely conscious regarding mutual harmony and sense of responsibility. In all areas, we must demonstrate responsibility. Whatever Allah Ta’ala has prohibited for us—such as usury and bribery—we must abstain from them.

He warned that sometimes some individuals take positions that go against the established principles and methods of the organization and the movement, and he called upon them to be cautious and careful.

He said that we must take lessons from the decision that Khalifatul-Muslimeen Hazrat Umar (RA) took regarding Hazrat Khalid ibn al-Walid (RA). He stated that all Islamic movements and organizations around the world look toward the Islamic movement of Bangladesh with deep emotion and trust. We must move forward carefully in this regard.

The foundation of our mutual relationship is Islamic principles and ideals. We must ensure that the bond of our morality never weakens. We will compete with one another in doing good and righteous deeds. We will always remain distant from wrongdoing.

To make the Islamic movement victorious, we must offer financial sacrifices according to our ability. In any kind of undesirable or unexpected situation, we must remain patient and move forward unitedly with wisdom and courage, taking everyone along.

After the concluding speech, the Jamaat Ameer, with a tearful voice, made prayer to Allah for the overall freedom and welfare of the country and the nation.

In the sessions of the Majlish-e-Shura, conducted under the guidance of the Jamaat Ameer Ameer, the elected members of the Central Majlish-e-Shura took their oaths in the 1st and 2nd phases. Additionally, Mr. ATM Azharul Islam took the oath as the Central Nayeb-e-Ameer.

In consultation with the Majlish-e-Shura, the Jamaat Ameer instructed that until the upcoming national parliamentary election is held, the central leaders will continue to carry out the responsibilities they had held in the previous session.
