Emergency meeting of the central executive council held

A meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held under the chairmanship of Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. The meeting was held on 13 November (Thursday), at 6 PM at the central office. Nayeb-e-Ameers, the Secretary General, Assistant Secretary Generals, and members of the Central Executive Council attended in the meeting.

Reviewing the speech delivered today, 13 November, by the Honorable Chief Advisor, the meeting stated that the announcement to hold the national election and the referendum on the same day has not been accepted by the nation and that the public demands have not been met.

In addition, a detailed discussion was held on the country’s overall current political situation, the expectations of the people, and the emerging context surrounding the forthcoming national parliamentary election.

Finally, the meeting sought the cooperation and prayers of people from all walks of life for the welfare of the country and the nation in order to establish justice and truth, and for transforming the future Bangladesh into a peaceful, justice-based, and prosperous country.
