Salim Uddin, and Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain were present in the meeting.

Jamaat Ameer said, “Journalism holds importance in the society and they are the important pillars of the society. They have a duty to move our beloved society, nation and country forward. There are two basic elements of the society, one is journalism and the other is politics. When these two factions work together, the society becomes a desired society. And where this understanding is disturbed, it is not possible to lead the society to attain the desired goal.

He also said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is an organization that has gained position in the heart of this country. We are one nation. We don't want any division. Let us take an oath, we will always be united for the sake of the nation.”

Among the representatives of print and electronic media, Daily Naya Diganta editor Alamgir Mohiuddin, BFUJ president Ruhul Amin Ghazi, former president of Dhaka Journalist Union Abdul Hai Shikder, secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union, Kader Goni Chowdhury, former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists MA Aziz, Executive Joint Editor of Dainik Manabzamin newspaper Shamimul Haque, General Secretary of Dhaka Journalists Union Khurshid Alam, Chief Editor of Bangla Vision Dr. Abdul Hai Siddique, media personality Hasan Ahmad Kiran, veteran journalist Elahi Newaz. Ameer Jamaat said, "In a society where everyone is oppressed, it is natural that journalists will also be oppressed there. Because journalists are also an important part of society. People of four religions mainly Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians live in diverse Bangladesh. It is extremely unfair to divide on the basis of religion or party. A nation that is divided over such issues becomes a weak nation. By dividing ourselves, we create a space for creating chaos and conflict. We feel that division is absolutely unacceptable where national interest is concerned.

He further said that unfortunately for the last 15 and a half years we have not been able to reach our narratives to the people. We have not been able to make people involve with our work. We tried to send our message to the media. But we think that for whatever reason you were not able to disclose your voice as well. I as an individual and our team are not above mistakes.

Let us bring all the hands of the society together. National interest above all else. May your pen be free and sharp. May your faces also be free and independent. May all our minds and mouths be open, and may we perform our duties without fear. The rulers of the society should not become lords. They should not treat citizens as subservient slaves. Rather, they are liable to fulfill their responsibilities to the citizens. May Allah grant us capacity to understand this spirit and allow us to] work together. Ameen.
