Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, Awami League believes in the politics of killing. They believe in the politics of enforced disappearances, murders, looting, robbing the dignity of girls. Awami League leaders and activists have tortured the people of the country. The political leaders and activists with dissident views have become the worst victims of their repression.
He said these while addressing financial assistance distribution program, organized by Habiganj district Jamaat-e-Islami at Habiganj Municipal Ground on Saturday, 24th August.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also said, the previous fascist regime has increased the prices of all essential items including the academic materials. They had claimed of making this country developed like Singapore and Canada. But practically their head flew away from the country after destroying the country and emptying the reserves and banks. He claimed that, biased justice Manik has been caught red handed at Sylhet border while fleeing to India. He was arrested with 70 lakh taka.
The students who have sacrificed their lives for the recent student movement are national assets, national heroes. Their sacrifice saved the country from a tyrannical government. Sheikh Hasina led government has turned the law enforcers into their party forces and destroyed the judiciary. The people of the country were not safe during their tenure.
Jamaat Ameer said, we do not believe in the concept majority and minority. We all are human beings. We need to ensure our rights equally. Jamaat-e-Islami had become the severe victims of previous government’s repression and torture. But we clarified that we will not take any revenge. To safe the minority community, we guarded the temple, repeatedly met with the leaders of Hindu religion.
The international tribunal has done for to try our party leaders. Now they are being produced before the court. Tyrant ruler has fallen and we should be careful to resist the emergence of any such tyrant in future. Later, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman distributed financial grans among 15 victim families.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s Habiganj District Ameer Master Abdur Rahman presided over the program which was conducted by district Secretary Kazi Mohsin Ahmed. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Ahsanul Mahoob Zubair spoke on the occasion. Among others, Sylhet city Ameer Fakhrul Islam, Sylhet city Secretary Shahjahan Ali and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s working committee member Shahin Ahmed Khan were present in the program.
