An exchange meeting between Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Khelafat Majlis was held on Thursday night on 22nd August. The meeting expressed deep concern and condolences over the severe flood situation in the eastern part of the country. National unity and solidarity among Islamic parties and organizations have been emphasized. Emphasis is placed on reforming the state by cooperating the interim government.
In the discussion meeting, it was said that there is a terrible flood situation in memory in 12 districts including Feni in the eastern part of Bangladesh. About half a million people are living inhumane conditions due to water logging. India created this flood situation by opening the dam without any prior warning. Such unfair and inhumane step from a neighboring country is not desirable. The government should give utmost importance on rescuing the flood affected people. The meeting also urged the affluent corners to stand by the villagers.
The reason for the danger of Muslims is disunity. For the sake of Islam, we must forget the petty differences and build unity among us through brotherhood, love, respect and reverence. The Kaaba is one, the Prophet is one, the Qur'an is one, as such all Islamic groups and organizations should build a consensus on the basic issues and move forward.
Awami fascism has collapsed through the movement of millions of students. This victory achieved by the blood of thousands of students, scholars and people will play a lead role in building the new Bangladesh desired by the patriotic students.
The friends of fascism are making multifaceted conspiracies to thwart the mass uprising. They should be identified and suppressed legally. All must be careful so that no one get the chance to disrupt the goal of mass uprising or student revolution. Irrespective of caste and religion, everyone should stand against the conspiracy.
