View exchange meeting held between Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Nagorik Mancha

A view exchange meeting was held between Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Nagorik Mancha on Sunday, August 18. The meeting discussed about the prevailing situation of the country including securing good governance, improving law and order situation, trial of every massacre which took place during the previous fascist regime, protection of people of different religions, strengthening the economy, and repatriation of smuggled money.

It was said in the exchange meeting that the interim government has taken the charge following the mass revolution of the students and they are working to fulfill the expectations of the people. This government should cooperate with the aim of establishing good governance and human rights in the country. We hope this interim government will reflect the will of the people. Still the goons of the fascist are making ill-attempts to destroy the peace and order of the country. Students must be remained united to counter any conspiracy to destabilize the country.

The government has formed a committee to ascertain the exact figures of those killed during the student movement. Exemplary punishment should be ensured through an impartial and fair trial. A precedent should be set in the national life so that no nefarious group or party can behave like a fascist in the future.

Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony. All must make strenuous efforts to protect the followers of different religions from the secret attacks of the fascism's minions. Those involved in various misdeeds, including attacking and setting fire to places of worship of different religions, should be identified and punished.

The previous government has destroyed every constitutional institution of the country in its fifteen and a half years tenure. They established a reign of terror and looting. Arrangements should be made to bring back money laundered from the country and initiatives should be taken to increase the pace of foreign remittances to strengthen the country's economy.

We want to move forward. Students have sacrificed their lives for the country. No evil force can thwart their achievement. Everyone has to play their role unitedly to deal with any situation for the sake of the country.
