Jamaat Ameer distributes relief throughout the day in Sylhet

Jamaat is by the side of the flood victims of Sylhet in their critical moments, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said Jamaat has been working for the people in all disasters. Jamaat is trying to serve the Sylhet residents in the current flood situation as well. We are not allowed to stay at home, not to communicate with people; rather we have to go through torture, repression and imprisonment, and execution. But by carrying out such oppression, they will not be able to refrain us from working for humanity. Despite all limitations and barriers, Jamaat has extended its hands of cooperation to the flood victims. The affluent corners of society should come forward in this regard.

Except for some areas, most of the city area of Sylhet is submerged. Different Upazila and Sunamganj districts are fully underwater. People are crying everywhere. To get rid of the crisis, we should pray to Allah wholeheartedly. Inshallah, this crisis will end shortly based on Almighty Allah’s blessings and people’s heartiest efforts. Jamaat had been beside the flood victims and will be as this organization is working to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.

Jamaat Ameer said this while distributing relief in Sylhet city’s Kanishail, Sheikh Ghat, and Jotorpur area. He talked to the victims and expressed his sympathy for them.

At that time, he was accompanied by Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and central relief committee’s coordinator Advocate Ahsanaul Mahabub Zubayer, Sylhet city Ameer Fakhrul Islam, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sohel Ahmad, Secretary Shahjahan Ali, Jamaat leader Maulana Abdul Muqit, Jalalabad thana Ameer Mufti Ali Haider, Azizul Islam, Hafiz Moshahid Ahmad, Parvez Ahmed, Zunaid Al Habib, Ubaidul Haq Shahin and others.

In addition, Jamaat-e-Islami has been continuing to distribute relief items and cooked meal from different points of the city.
