Youth community has to work for bringing change in society- Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda

A discussion program of the Lalmonirhat district Jamaat-e-Islami’s Youth Department held on 12th August virtually. The program was arranged marking the World Youth Day. District’s working committee member and former vice chairman Advocate Firoz Haidar Lavlu presided over the program. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and party’s central publicity secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda addressed the program as the chief guest. Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s team member Professor Azizur Rahman Sarkar, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Lalmonirhat district Ameer Professor Ataur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.

Addressing the program, Mr. Akanda said, all the prophets circulated the message of Islam with the youth communities of those age and became successful. In today’s circumstances, youth section’s role is the only mean to establish a country free from corruption, drug and oppression. Their role is inevitable for bringing change in a society. A recent study revealed that, 40% of our population are youth. Targeting this youth section, drug business is being spread. A vested quarter is trying to involved our potential youths with this ill-business to destroy their future.

He further said that, only law is not enough to control drug addiction. Social resistance and family protection is also required. Our youths must be enlightened with the ethical touch. Jamaat has been working to reform youth’s character towards a positive direction. To make ideal citizens, Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have been implementing various programs regularly. This is why, no body could bring any evidence of drug addiction in forth against the leaders and activists of these two organizations so far.
