Jamaat Ameer greets the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 10 August 2019 extending greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha.

“Holy Eid-ul-Azha is knocking at our doors upholding the sacred spirit of Qurbani (sacrifice). This Eid motivates us to go for more sacrifice. To the Muslims, the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha is the most joyful days. In these two occasions, people come together eliminating all sorts of differences, discriminations, jealousy and vengeance. The Muslim devotees say their prayer in the Eid ground, keeping trust in the concept of brotherhood, harmony and peace. The Eid days strengthens our collective bondage, fostering our individual, social and national unity.

Eid-ul-Azha inspires us to conceive the ideology of sacrifice and motivates us to build a just society, free from social, political and economical discriminations. We can achieve the satisfaction of Almighty Allah by revitalizing ourselves with the spirit of sacrifice and simultaneously by following Islamic ideologies at all spheres of life.

Our sacrifice will be successful and worthy, if we can prepare ourselves to sacrifice like the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A), his wife Hazar (A) and their son and Prophet Ismail (A).

The nation is going to observe Eid-ul-Azha in such a moment, when my fellow countrymen are critically suffering because of dengue fever. Already over hundreds of people have died in this disease. Their families have no joys to celebrate. We are praying for the salvation of their departed souls and extending sympathy to the mournful families. I am praying to Almighty Allah for the quick recovery of the dengue patients and also seeking His help to get relief from this outbreak.

The country is also undergoing through some political, financial and constitutional crises. With the assistances of the law enforcement entities, the ruling party goons have created a reign of terror by conducing terrorism, extortions, murder, abduction and chaos. An anarchic situation is prevailing nationwide. The people’s sufferings know no bounds.

Immediate before the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the neighboring government of India have launched brutal oppression and massacres against the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. I am praying for the protection and peace of the Kashmiri Muslims. I am also praying for those respected Hajj pilgrims, who have died this year. May Allah accept their devotions. May Allah help their families to hold patience.

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, I am extending my sincere and cordial greetings to the fellow countrymen. I am praying to Almighty Allah seeking His blessings so that we can celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in a congenial atmosphere. May Allah help us to uphold the spirit and lessons of Qurbani and to comply it in our lives.”
