Central Working Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, veteran leader, former Ameer of party’s Chittagong South Organizational district and the guardian-like leader of greater Chittagong region Maulana Mominul Haque Chowhdury has died this dawn at the age of 86. Inna LillahiWa Inna IlaihiRajiun. He has left his wife, two sons, two daughters and many other relatives. He has been buried in his own village, located in Choroti union of the SatkaniaUpazila of the Chittagong district following his first Namaj-e-Janaja held at IIUC campus, second Namaj-e-Janaja in Parade Ground of the port city and third one in his native village.

This veteran leader was a pioneer personality behind launching numerous social and religious institutions in Chittagong. Till his death, he has discharged all the organizational and institutional duties with due sincerity, efficiency and dignity.

Message of Condolence

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following message of condolence on 22ndJune, 2019 expressing deep shock at the death of Maulana Mominul Haque Chowdhury. I am deeply shocked at the death of Maulana Mominul Haque Chowdhury. I have lost one of my close fellows with his demise.

He had significant contribution behind the advancement and progress of the Islamic movement in greater Chittagong region. He was a skilled and courageous organizer indeed. He has played uncompromised role in different democratic movement and the movements for establishing people’s rights. The incumbent leadership of Chittagong are working on the pillars, which had been built by his efforts. We are recalling his contributions with due respect and honor. His death has created a vacuum, which will never be fulfilled.

In the condolence message, Jamaat Ameer further said, may Allah forgive Late MaulamaMominul Haque Chowdhury (Rahimahullah). May Allah accept him as a distinguished guest and expanded his graveyard. May Allah turn his vices into pieties. May Allah accept all his noble deeds to bless him with Jannah.

Jamaat Ameer also extended his deep sympathy to his mournful families and prayed for them so that they can bear the shock of this irreparable loss.
