Secretary General criticizes Mohammad Nasim for his intentional allegations against Jamaat-e-Islami

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 21 May 2019 protesting and condemning the hilarious comment of Awami League’s Presidium member and former minister Mohammad Nasim as he blamed BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami for food adulteration while addressing a iftar party arranged by Tarikat Foundation on 20th May.

“I am severely protesting and condemning the hilarious comment of Awami League’s Presidium member and former minister Mohammad Nasim as he blamed BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami for the food adulteration. His comment is nothing but a childish one.

It has become the bad habit of the ruling party leaders to make intentional speeches and also to blame Jamaat-e-Islami for any unpleasant incidents. By making false comments from an Iftar party, he has tarnished the sanctity of the holy Ramadan. The countrymen do not expect such an indecent remark from senior leader like him. He has damaged his own image by such ridiculous statement as well.

Food adulteration is a severe crime. There is no nexus of Jamaat-e-Islami with such an offence. Rather proper investigation may expose the big fishes behind such ill-businesses who are mostly involved with the ruling party.

I am urging Mr. Nasim to withdraw his false comment and asking him to be refrained from delivering such irresponsible remarks in future.
