Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 27 April 2019 protesting and condemning the unjust arrest of Rajshahi city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Principal Siddiq Hossain.

“The government has arrested Principal Siddiq Hossain as a part of their conspiracy to destroy the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami. I am vehemently protesting and condemning the incident.

Following the arrest of Rajshahi city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary, the authority arrested Principal Siddiq Hossain. By such incidents, government’s heinous conspiracy against the Jamaat leadership has been exposed. Jamaat leaders are being detained in a selective way to linger the tyrannical rule of the government. I am calling upon the countrymen to launch mass resistance against such conspiracies of the incumbent government.

I am urging the concerned authorities to stop oppression and to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Principal Siddiq Hossain immediately.
