Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 11 April 2019 expressing deep shock and condolence as Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi lost her battle for life, five days after she was set ablaze at a madrasa in Feni.

“I am deeply shocked and mournful as Feni district Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi has been burnt to death brutally by some miscreants. Like her families and relatives, I am equally feeling the pain the losing dear one. The personnel who were involved with this incident are evil in the name of human being.

A person is burnt in such a way that can never be expected or imagined by anybody in a civilized society. The people of the country are united to press demand of exemplary punishment of the killers of Nusrat. To avoid the recurrence of such brutality, I am urging the concerned authorities to bring all the involved personnel to the book in order to ensure their stern punishment.

I am praying for the salvation of her departed soul. I am also extending my deep sympathy to her mournful families and relatives. May Allah bless them all with patience so that they overcome the shock of losing their dearest family member.
