Tasnim Alam criticizes BNP leader Dudu for his irrational and unexpected comments about Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 20 February 2019 responding to the unexpected comment of BNP’s Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, which he had delivered in a round table arranged by online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’ on last 19 February.

“The news which has been published in various media citing an unexpected address of BNP’s Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, drew our attention. We even do not know whether he has made this comment or not. If so, we are vehemently protesting against such unwanted address.

The Islamic and nationalist forces of the country became highly shocked and aggrieved with such comment of Shamsuzzaman Dudu. Being a leader of 20 party alliances, how did he make such a comment which goes completely against the national interest? By making such anti-national and hostile comments, he is assisting the government by other ways to implement their ill-agendas.

The countrymen are well informed about the constructive and glorious role of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to uphold democracy, rule of law, justice, voting rights and Islamic values. The role of Jamaat-e-Islami is also recognized across the globe as it played for establishing caretaker government, a system which is the key mechanism to hold free, fair and credible elections for three times in this country.

Jamaat is making all out efforts for the sake of national interest in a systematic, democratic and constitutional way. By making an illogical and irrational comments against such a party, Mr. Dudu actually caused pain to the followers and supporters of the nationalist and Islamic trends. We are urging him to be refrained from making such comments in future.
