Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 21 December 2018 protesting and renouncing the false propaganda which has been revealed in a report of online news portal Bangla Tribune.

“Whatever is stated in the report of Bangla Tribune about Jamaat-e-Islami, is far away from truth. I am protesting the report.

No leader of Jamaat-e-Islami has any link with so called agent of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI Shahid Mehmud or any other official. Bangla Tribune has been conducting this false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami just to tarnish the good image of the party.

Earlier, Bangladesh Pratidin published another report propagating against Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman protested that report instantly. He further stated that Jamaat has no connection with ISI. But Bangladesh Pratidin did not publish his rejoinder. It is the common ethics of good journalism to publish rejoinder of the concerned person who had been aggrieved by their previously published report. But the aforesaid daily and the online news portal have failed to maintain that minimum ethics.

I am calling upon the authorities of Bangla Tribune to be refrained from carrying out false and baseless propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.
