Tasnim Alam rejects the false news of Daily Jugantor and several other news portals

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 15 December 2018 protesting and gainsaying the false reports of Daily Jugantor and several other news portals, which have accused the 20-party alliance’s Jamaat backed candidates of war crimes and having connection with the militants.

“Bengali Daily Jugantor and several other news portals in their syndicated reports raised some allegations against the candidate for Thakurgaon-2 constituency Maulana Abdul Hakim, Chittagong-15 constituency’s candidate, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, candidate for Khulna-5 constituency, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar, candidate for Satkhira-4 constituency Gazi Nazrul Islam, candidate for Pirojpur-1 constituency Shameem Sayedee and candidate for Cox’s Bazar-2 constituency and Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad which are completely false. They are propagating these reports as they have been asked by some hierarchies. I am severely protesting and condemning such syndicated reporting.

The false information within the reports of Daily Jugantor and other news portals are tied in the same knot. These reports are nothing but an effort to tarnish the image of Jamaat leaders. This is a part of the government’s conspiracy to foil the upcoming election.

Among the aforesaid candidates, Shameem Sayedee was not born in 1971. Rest of the others were immature in those days. The allegations brought against these personnel are really hilarious. This propaganda is being carried out as they failed to tackle these candidates politically. But such reports will not be able to mislead the people anymore.

We want to assert that the allegation of militant connection and war crimes against the aforesaid candidates are totally false. Daily Jugantor and other news portal have published this news intentionally just to misguide the general masses.

In this backdrop, I am urging the authorities of Daily Jugantor and the concerned news portals to be refrained from making such intentional propaganda against the candidates of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’. I am also expecting that they will publish this rejoinder properly, otherwise, we will be compelled to take legal actions against them.
